TBH things have been a bit upsy-downsy here lately: I'm still waiting for the results of a chest x-ray for possible pneumonia/pulmonary embolism which I still haven't had back yet - no news is good news though! the hospital said they would call me if I had to go back in :D - and Astrid has had the bloody norovirus XD So, as ever, we've been lying around like a bunch of dying ducks XD
We are thankfully going to be doing bog all for Christmas except slobbing out at home, eating crisps and watching the Dr Who Cybermas Special XDDD How about you guys, any of you doing exciting things? Did I miss much since the last time I came by? I was only able to read back about two weeks before my eyeballs started bleeding XD

In non-meme related news, I'm finally finalising and getting my next tattoo art designed - woohooooooo!!! :D It was going to be of Princess Rosalina from Super Mario Galaxy, but I changed my mind and am now having an Art Nouveau/Jugendstil version of Princess Ariel designed for me by the super-talented Ysa at Deviantart, whose super awesome amazing renditions of Disney Princesses in Art Nouveau/Mucha style could not be more perfect for a tattoo for me :DDDD She's going to start working on my commission when she can, bless her, I can't wait to see what it's going to come out like :D
Oh and lastly, before I forget, boy am I pissed at the NHS - they won't remove the cyst on the inside of my left eyelid! My GP said that "funding had changed for dermatology" and unless I want to pay for private plastic surgery, basically I have to walk around for the rest of my life looking like The Elephant Man. Great, I'd better find myself a sewing pattern for a sack with holes in it ¬_¬ XDDD For realz though - I'm stuck with this bastard cyst 'cos I can't afford £3498459875487 for plastic surgery, I am so pissed off ;___;

Thank you so much to all of you who commented on my second-to-last post - I eventually got several extremely effusive apologies and some explanation, although it wasn't really a very good one, but I kind of let it slide, as you have to I guess :/
Astrid starts 'big school' on Thursday, so I've had to be off buying all her uniform, gym kit, lunch stuffs etc - I have like two days to sew 2347543785478 nametags into everything she owns XD She's only going for mornings until October, but still... *sigh* I dunno, I feel so proud that she's going up to school, but at the same time so worried for her, trying to fit into a new environment with totally new people and none of her old friends :( Not to mention the fact that I'm going to miss her really badly! I'm so used to having her with me pretty much 24/7 that having to leave her at school every day is going to be weird and kind of painful for both of us :(
In happier news, I'm getting one of
kainoliero's Nom Nom jewellery range :D SO hard to choose which one I wanted - so tempted by Shrapnel and Polka, but in the end I decided on a Mini Cthulhu because it combines four of my very most favourite things - tentacles, cupcake, pearls and bows ♥ XDDDWow, that was a really dull update - sorry about that X__X XD
EDIT: and OMG, I forgot, I saw the new Grant Gee documentary about Joy Division and it blew my socks clean off XD I've watched it twice in one week and I'm wondering if I should make it a hat-trick XD

This may not look too exciting to all of you, and it doesn't match a thing I own, but I wanted it and I'm getting it, and I'm happy with that XD I originally wanted the mint perfume bottle headband and bracelet combo but literally five minutes after I asked for a quote, they were both sold out ;___;
Going to see Cloverfield tomorrow night, and there will be a giant Chinese takeaway feast for me beforehand, I shall just tell the Wok Express to fill a huge bucket full of egg fried rice and stir fried veggies in black bean sauce for me and then I'll stick my head right in it and go O NOM NOM NOM for about half an hour XD

In other complete lack of news, Alex and I are going to take a look at Astrid's new school a week on Thursday: since my rant of the other day, my mom and I went up to look at the school she's got a place for, and I wonder if it might not be a blessing in disguise, you know :/ It's a tiny school, only 140-odd kids there (and only 12 kids started in Reception this September just gone), so it might actually be better for her than Fynamore, which is huge :/
So... we'll see, I guess :/ Thanks to everyone who was so sympathetic *hugs you all*: we haven't yet ruled out an appeal, but we'll delay making one until we've seen what this place has to offer ^_^
In happier - MUCH happier - news, the Mighty Boosh have added extra tour dates to their schedule and Alex and I got tickets for Bristol Hippodrome on 29th October :DDDDD I was SO pissed at missing out on tix before, so I couldn't believe it when I got the mail in my inbox last night about extra dates :D I'm going to go dressed up as one of the goth girls from Nanageddon (my black Meta OP should be perfect for that XD): I think Alex is going to put a door in his forehead, although I'm still trying to persuade him to let me make him a papier mache Tony Harrison head XDDDDDD

Things here have been mercifully quiet: Christmas Day was nice and for once, unspoiled by bickering/insults/airing of grievances etc :D Alex and I think we may make a home-Christmas a permanent feature from now on XD It was adorable how excited Astrid was when she came downstairs on Christmas morning and saw all her presents in the living roo: she did a massive gasp and went, "OHHHHHHHHH WOOOOOOOOOOOW!" *LMAO* Too cute ♥
I got some pretty nice stuff, including a pair of Meta furry black legwarmers, which I laughed at until I started to actually wear them - and now I'm addicted to the little bastards XD They keep my legs so warm under skirts it's unreal! They're all sold out of the pink ones otherwise I'd be after a pair of those too XD My Takuya Angel gauntlets haven't arrived yet though ;__;
Alex's birthday was nice but quiet, and Astrid's birthday was good fun, despite the awfulness of the panto we took her to see in Bournemouth - 2 1/2 hours (!!!!!!!!!!!!) of bum-numbing bad-gag torture for the adults, but she loved it, so it was all worth it in the end XD It's hard to believe that my little baby is FOUR years old! She's growing up so fast *sniffle* :D
As for the shop, we sold 7 items over Christmas, including one literally five minutes ago! I'm quite shocked really, not to mention chuffed - when I sat down and worked out our incomings/outgoings from last year, I found out that we ended up making a small loss XDDDD Wow, I totally rock as a businesswoman XD (However, that did include a big fabric order I haven't yet received from eQuilter, so in reality we probably ended up about ten quid in profit XD)
Um... and that's about it, really! We still haven't updated the site, which is a bit embarrassing - I just have not had the time to sit down and do anything, everything has been work-work-work or people's birthdays or being away at inlaws, the 2 weeks has flown by!

Thankfully, he was actually semi-well enough to take me out to Stanton House Hotel for a Japanese feast last night - I stuffed myself silly, and when we arrived, the food shop was still open, so we stocked up on a ton of stuff even before we went upstairs to eat XDDD
Spent the afternoon photographing and listing some new stuff for the shop - my mom produced this amazing jersey nightdress seemingly out of nowhere (well, I gave her a bunch of appliques and some fabrics and went "Uhhhh... here you go!" XD) which would SO not be going into the shop if it was in my size, because I would have pinched it straight off the bat - I LOVE the damn thing! I want her to make me one in my size - however, when I ask her to make me stuff, she now starts laughing and says very sardonically, "Yeah, Mandi, I'll do it in my free time" XDDDDD I think she may slightly resent me taking up all her time, a bit XDDDDD)
